The Impressive Looks Red Dead Redemption On Xbox One X

While the world waits for Red Dead Redemption 2 in October, Microsoft today updated the Xbox 360 version of the acclaimed western for the Xbox One X. You can now download a 582.73 MB update that "enhances" the game for Xbox One X.

The update was tested, and you can check out the game in action in the gameplay video above. If you want to watch it in 4K, head to Gamespot YouTube channel here.

On Xbox One X, Red Dead Redemption runs at a higher resolution and features other visual improvements. This is done using the Heutchy Method--named after the Microsoft engineer who developed it--which "leverages the power of Xbox One X to let the Xbox 360 emulator present the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets--all without touching the game code."

Red Dead Redemption was not the only Xbox 360 game to get an Xbox One X update today. The other four are Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Darksiders, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Read Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 28 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
